Course Description


About SpaceClaim Basics



The SpaceClaim Basics course is designed to get new users up and running as quickly as possible by going over the essentials for creating and modifying 3D CAD models and making drawings in SpaceClaim. This course does not assume any former knowledge of CAD or 3D modeling.


What to Expect from this Course

By the end of this course, you will know how to:

  • Create 2D sketches, the foundation for 3D models, using a wide variety of sketching tools
  • Create 3D models from 2D sketches using the Pull tool
  • Modify models using the Move tool
  • Fill, blend, cut, and combine models
  • Edit a cross-section of a model
  • Create assemblies (organize parts of a model in a logical way, to streamline workflow)
  • Use the selection panel to quickly and easily select multiple features of a model according to the desired criteria
  • Create engineering drawings based on a 3D model and annotate them up as appropriate




Instructor

Ted Lougheed

Ted is an application engineer at Futurescape, and has trained a number of clients in the use of SpaceClaim software. He also has extensive experience creating CAD models for a variety of industries.
